JOHN MANGAN
November 7, 1959 – September 9, 2014

John was a gifted artist with a unique visionary aesthetic. He worked as an Art Instructor in Drawing and Painting for twenty years at The Pennsylvania State University for Continuing Education. John grew up in the Bronx, NY. His parents were Irish Immigrants. He spent summers on his grandparents farm in Kerry, Ireland.

He received his BA from State University of New York College at Oneonta, he studied art in Urbino, Italy, and received his MFA in Printmaking from The Pennsylvania State University. John had a strong connection to nature and the land. He lived in the Julian Woods Community where he built a studio/cabin in the woods. He was an active member of the Bellefonte Art Museum for Centre County and a board member of the School of Living.
